While learning about office and commercial design during my CIDA-accredited Interior Design program, I digitally illustrated a number of office vignettes

Senior Capstone project for CIDA-accredited Interior Design Program. Research, Design, and Development of Co-Housing. From researching existing Co-Housing communities, I learned that many encourage or assign shared responsibilities such as communal dinners. This inspired my concept of using the idea of a community garden as a means to connect residents and neighbors, through the shared responsibilities and experiences of maintaining a resource that everyone can benefit from. The community can grow together by using this shared resource as a bridge to sharing a table. Being able to see the literal fruits of one's labor can feel very fulfilling, and working alongside others creates a bond. Gardening and cooking are accessible to a number of age groups, abilities, and levels of knowledge - anyone can feel welcome and included. As a concept intended for an urban setting, it could foster greater awareness of supply chains, sustainability concerns, and appreciation of local flora and fauna. If this were to be instituted in a 'food desert' it could provide a resource to the community beyond just the immediate residents.
